This past week has been eventful to say the least! It started out quiet and then ended with a bang!! We had our normal school, work, girl scouts, and such. Wednesday Ally woke up with a fever so we kept her out of school. I thought she'd be okay to go back on Thursday, but at 4 in the morning she started the vomiting. That was a lot of fun! Then I decided that even though she was keeping food down around 1 in the afternoon I'd still keep her home from school on Friday. Friday evening we did our annual hay ride at Red Top. That was a lot of fun and went smoothly. Saturday was Tyler's big day! He was celebrating his 13th birthday with 6 of his friends at a paint ball park. There were different fields to play and Tyler picked the two teams of five players. David and I along with Derrek and two of Ty's friends were on one team and Tyler's team had him and 4 other boys. I have to say Tyler had the most experienced team they won the first 2 fields! Us older folks were getting our back ends kicked!! The third field was like a old village and we finally won!! It was fun, I lasted the whole time without getting shot and I finally got a couple of shots in!! I was so proud!! We did another field and then decided to go back to the village field b/c we all liked it so much. We were doing good until.....I was cornered in a small room and tried to get up fast to get out of there. I didn't realize that the door fame was short and hit my head as I was trying to escape. It threw me back causing me to land on my back with my leg bent at the knee. I remember as I went down hearing several pops...that really scared me. The thoughts running through my head was how am I going to run my household with a broken limb! I sat up and after a bit my cousin Derrek came around the corner and I asked him to get David. I felt so silly, but couldn't walk on my leg so they carried me out. Then I got upset b/c I felt I was going to mess up the rest of Tyler's day. Well all in all they still had a great time and we were on the last field anyway. It's day 2 and my foot is huge I can barely bend my knee, but it's not broken! It's just a very nasty sprain! Thankfully! I posted a few pics of the fun day! And am glad to have been able to enjoy it with Tyler! I can't believe he will be 13 soon!! I'm so lucky he's my son, he makes me so proud and has awesome aim as he was usually the one to get me out!! Even in tight areas! lol

We're still around!!

Yep it's true we are still here, believe it or not!! Since school has started and fall is "officially" here (although it still gets to the 90's) we've gotten busy. I kind of like the busyness of fall. This is my favorite time of year I love all the activities and most of all the weather. Well give it a couple more weeks and I will officially love the weather. I'm not a warm weather person and I am always sweating bullets it seems like. Our power bill got up to $400 so we went up a few degrees on the thermostat. It's now set at 75 and I have to say I'm doing well with the change. I know I'm a baby. I'm very disappointed in myself I've not been taking many pictures lately. I even forgot my camera a few times. I'm not sure what's gotten into me.

Papa Joe passed away this month. He would have turned 95 on October 1st. He lived a full and happy life and now he's with grandma Clara. We miss them both dearly, but they are now together again. Tyler really had a hard time with his passing. I guess I didn't realize it would affect him like it did. He would visit him with papa Bob and I think him seeing how papa Bob lost his father really hurt his heart.

Tyler and papa Bob have been going to hunting camp and getting their deer stands ready for the upcoming deer season. He loves hunting with papa. I can't believe in a few short weeks he will be 13. Geesh..it seems like yesterday he was born.

I'm afraid I don't have any exciting pictures, hopefully soon I'll get out and snap some with the pretty fall background!!
Ella's green toenails for Mito-Awareness week!! Please excuse any excess dirt....that's normal for her!! :)

Oakleaf Church

I have been going to Oakleaf Church for a couple of Sundays now and I have to say I LOVE it. It's nothing like the church that I went to when I was younger and that's what I love about it. Last Sunday David and the girls went with me. At first Ally didn't want to go into the City kids by herself, but when I picked her up she said that she loved it and wants to go back next weekend. I was so happy that she liked it so much! David thought the music was a little loud and wasn't used to that, but he did enjoy the sermon. He will be going back with me also. This makes me so happy. I'm so happy that we've found a church that we like! Ahhh...I feel so good about this and so thankful that Brad & Amanda introduced me to Oakleaf Church! I'm looking forward to Sundays service! :) Things seem to be looking up! David may have an interview, fingers crossed all goes well and this is where he is supposed to go next! It would be a great change for our family! Again another thing to be greatful for!!

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school for Tyler & Ally. They both did great eventho getting up early is not their cup of tea! No problems with either of them, they are both so easy going! Poor Ella kept calling for them through out the day. David worked from home so he could help the first day. Today Ally has decided that she wants to ride the bus home. I'm not too crazy about it because the bus doesn't come down our street so they will drop her off at the corner. I told her that Ella & I would meet her there this afternoon. So we'll go from there and see if she likes it, if not I'll pick her up in the afternoons. Tyler said he wanted to do the same, but then changed his mind this morning, he's like me just can't seem to make up his mind! lol Here is a picture of Ty & Ally and one of Ella working on the computer with her daddy! She loves the computer! :)
He looks so excited doesn't he??? lol
Ally was ready to take on the first day!

Beach Fun

Wow, I can't believe summer is almost over for us! This is our last week off before school starts. We ended our summer with a week at the beach. We had so much fun. We discovered that Tyler really isn't a beach bum, Ella doesn't like the sand, but put her in the water and she could float for hours. And that Ally is such a people person and made some new friends! We spent the week in a condo with aunt Pat and had a really good time. We were lazy, but it was so nice to be lazy. Now we're home and getting ready for school to start next Monday. We did our supply shopping yesterday and wow was that expensive!! I couldn't imagine shopping for more than 2 kids in school we spent $150 just for our 2 and that didn't include shoes or clothes! Ally will be in 3rd this year and Ty will be in 7th. I can't believe how fast they are growing. They really are awesome kids and I am so happy to have them! Here are some pictures from our beach trip!

Old/New Table

Here is a table and chair set I've been working on for my kitchen area I'm really pleased with the finished result!

Not sure why the picture turned out like it did, but it doesn't look like that on the camera. Oh well, you get the gist of it right!! :o)

Weekend Fun

We went down to Greensboro this past weekend for a graduation party. Ally got to ride Miss. Anna and she loved it. My cousin and his family have quite a few horses and they are just beautiful. Ally defiantly takes after me with her love for animals. She'd adopt everyone she saw if she could! I love that about her, it makes me proud that she wants to help those who are in need! Even when it comes to animals! Ella wasn't too sure of the big "doggies" and Tyler got to ride, but he was a bit sore after. I think he'll stick to baseball!! Enjoy

Whoa, Hello Blogger world! Yes we're still alive!! ;o)

WOW, bet ya didn't think we were still around now did ya!! lol

We're still around and have been oh so busy! Let's see what did we miss, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines, Ally's 8th birthday, St. Patty's Day, & April Fools! Oh yeah and we moved!! YAY!! We finally closed on our new house on March 3rd and we LOVE it!! It's beautiful. I've still go a lot of decorating to do, but we'll get there. We are currently finishing Tyler's room downstairs. His "boy cave" as he calls it. He is excited and will love having his own little domain where the girls don't bother him! We are much closer to school, in fact Ally's school is in our backyard and Tyler's in across the street from that! We are still going through boxes, but have unpacked the most important things that we need to live. Like my shoes and the girls shoes and that kind of stuff! lol

We have stairs now so we invested in a few new gates to keep Ella off of them as she's not quite mastered coming down them yet. Harlee is doing well and seems to like the new house. I do have to walk her as she's taken off for a couple of jaunts through the neighborhood. I'm sure the neighbors don't want a 80lb. lab running through their yards. Our backyard is fenced, but it's fenced around the back porch so it's easier for now to just walk her.
We had a great Christmas, it was pretty low key and the kids didn't ask for anything big (surprising). They still got a ton of stuff tho! Thankfully we have more room at the new house which is so nice!

I now have a pre-teen (Ty), Ally turned 8 in February and Ella is 17 months. Life is busy and crazy sometimes, but we love it! Everyone is in great health and enjoying Spring Break as we speak. This year we decided to stay home and enjoy our new house and just be thankful for the things we do have! Tyler is starting baseball now and David is coaching his team. The games start next week so I'm really looking forward to that!

Since I miss so many events I will just post a few pictures from Easter! Hopefully I can keep up this time! Enjoy my munchkins!! :o)
The kids getting into their baskets!
Ella w/Aunt Pat's hat, I love it! It was so hot!!
The girls and I at Ally's egg hunt at school
That Tyler is so darn hard to get a good shot of! Don't you just LOVE his buzz cut! Not my choice!!
